American Tobacco Campus Engagement Photographer : Durham, North Carolina | Kelly+Logan

There's something about my couples.  It's a connection.  When I was sitting down talking to my amazing designer, Ravyn of Three Fifteen Design, who's helping me rebrand we talked about "my couples" and how to define them.  In all aspects of business you have a target market.  Who YOU want to work with and that they want to work with YOU! I knew the moment we sat down at the Flying Saucer, Kelly and Logan had a flight in front of them, they looked like a couple in love and also best friends.  I knew from the first few minutes of that meet up, that I wanted to work with THEM and by the end I knew they wanted to work with ME! They easily fell into the category of being  one of "MY COUPLES" ;)

The day we met up for their engagements, we once again battled crazy weather!  I had just left a bridal session in Chapel Hill where huge raindrops had just started and I knew they were coming in from Greenville and I wanted to make sure this wasn't a wasted/rained out trip! We frantically texted each other what the weather was like where we were.... "tears were almost shed" but we avoided the crazy thunderstorms and downpours and had a lovely session at ATC in Downtown Durham!

SO Funny and one of the best stories about Kelly and Logan is that when we met up, they actually, technically, weren't engaged! HAHAH Logan had really wanted for the right moment to present itself! and he remedied that soon after our meet up during a trip to Savannah with Kelly.  In front of Forsyth Park's famous fountain, Logan went down on one knee and asked Kelly to marry him with a gorgeous emerald cut solitaire! Their parents came out of hiding to celebrate! The funniest part is when they were telling me about it, they said some random person came up and asked "are you getting ready to propose?!" as they were walking around the fountain.. HAHAHAH Why would someone DO THAT!! Just an FYI, if you see someone you may THINK is going to propose.. don't ask.. just let it happen and consider yourself lucky to be there! ;)

I'm excited for these two, who just bought a house and can soon be in the same city!! They've been living apart due to careers and sharing the puppy parenting with their beautiful pup, Darby. Who I know will be so incredibly happy to have her parents together under one roof! So looking forward to their wedding in October at Mordecai with a reception at Caffe Luna. Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session this past April.

The Garden on Millbrook Bridal Portraits | Raleigh, North Carolina Wedding Photographer | Kathlyn

Kathlyn is not only stunning but she has to be one of the sweetest bride's I've ever had the pleasure of working with.  Leading up to her wedding day (and after) I received little messages of thanks and appreciation from her.  I feel incredibly fortunate to work with such loving and thoughtful couples.

I literally just finished their wedding images and am currently uploading their gallery!!! and I wanted to take a moment to share some of my very favorites from Kathlyn's bridal session at The Garden on Millbrook, which was also their wedding venue!

I remember when I showed Kathlyn proofs from this session and she messaged me "this one is one of my favorite pics of me ever taken" That right there, is the best compliment a photographer can ever get! <3 That image was and still is a fast favorite but wasn't chosen as her bridal portrait.   I am still completely head over heels for the one she ended up choosing... you'll have to scroll to the end to see which one she ended up going with! :)

Venue: The Garden on Millbrook  // Make up Artist: Julie Robbins Make-Up  // Hair Artist: Alli Carter // Floral Design: Fresh Affairs  // Gown : David's Bridal

Knew the moment I clicked the shutter, this would be it.. Usually, brides choose a different image than my very favorite for their bridal canvas....except for this time! Love how Kathlyn's canvas turned out! <3

Weymouth Center for the Arts : Southern Pines, North Carolina Wedding // Shannon+Robert

Yes, you're lovely with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft
There is nothing for me but to love you
And the way you look tonight

With each word your tenderness grows
Tearing my fear apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose
It touches my foolish heart

- Frank Sinatra

Hands down one the BEST receptions I've ever witnessed!  I should've known after our first meet up that lasted almost three hours sitting at Tyler's getting to know each other and hardly talking wedding.. that they would not disappoint! We were instafriends and we were a perfect fit!

Shannon and Robert were married a few short weeks ago in Southern Pines at the gorgeous Weymouth Center for the Arts.  There were tears, so much laughter, beer shotgunning, tambourine playing and some of the best first dances I've ever seen!

Enjoy a few of my very favorite moments from their day! <3

Huge THANK YOU to the amazing vendors I had the opportunity to work with!

Coker Arboretum : University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina : Bridal Portraits

Amanda was the most beautiful bride on her wedding day.  Relaxed and Giddy.  As I'm working through their images I wanted to share her bridal portraits from a few months ago.

We met at Coker Arboretum, one of my favorite places to shoot.  There's so many hidden spots throughout the park and the light was pretty awesome.  I love when a bride thinks they "are awkward at posing" and then pull images like this out!

The most memorable moment for me on their wedding day, was the moment when Amanda stopped me as she was heading out to run through her sparkler exit and asked me for a hug.. well, it just made my heart incredibly full.  Amanda, you're one of a kind.
