Lauren+Jared: Married! Watermark Marina, Wilmington, North Carolina Wedding Photographer

I don't even know how to start this.. there's so much to say.  I fell in love with these two the moment I met them!  We spent almost an entire year documenting their love for each other and it is still one of the best relationships I've had with a couple.  Lauren's striking beauty paired with Jared's rugged good looks make them an easy couple to photograph but it's so much more.. the way they care about each other, their friends and family.  I can't wait to see them!  We've become friends and to me, that's my success. Lauren's brother James contacted me in the beginning wanting to hire me for their wedding as a gift to Lauren and Jared.  I was so worried that I wouldn't be "a good fit" without emailing/meeting or any of the initial contact I have with my couples.  I mean what if she'd had her heart set on someone else and boom, "Surprise!! I booked you a photographer!!" I would feel horrible.. but with that first email from Lauren, I knew it was a perfect match.  I can't thank Lauren enough, she's introduced me to amazing brides who I am now photographing their weddings.  The best compliment I can ever receive is when a couple refers me to their friends.  THE BEST! <3

Lauren and Jared were married at Watermark Marina which sits along The Cape Fear River in Wilmington, North Carolina.  The setting was just gorgeous!

This post is long.. I had a really hard time pairing down the shots to feature.. So stay with me, there's a lot of good stuff below.. lots of laughter and happy tears.

Thank you Lauren and Jared for being so wonderful and I look forward to seeing you and your pups soon! <3

Huge thanks to Jess for shooting alongside me and just being her awesome self..

Lauren had asked that only her mother be present when getting dressed, so they could share some intimate time together.  I would totally suggest this to all of my brides.  It made for a very special moment between a mother and daughter and the bridesmaids reactions when she finally emerged were true emotion! Real tears and "Awwwww"s that's can't be fabricated..

Burying the bourbon in the soil at your ceremony site is an old southern wive's tale to make sure there's no rain on your wedding day! It totally worked and all the wedding party had to partake!

Lauren was surprised with an impromptu serenade from Jared and his guys of "You've Lost that Loving Feeling"!! SO GOOD!!!

The Martinez Family : Fall Session, Wilmington, North Carolina Lifestyle Family Photographer

I can't believe I had not blogged this session before now! I've become too lazy and satisfied with posting albums on facebook.. this will change.  :)

Here's this beautiful family the first time we met!  Back in November of 2012 we met on a wonderfully overcast chilly morning at Chandler's Wharf in Wilmington, North Carolina.

You can really see how much they've grown in just SIX MONTHS!  Crazy, right!

Enjoy this beautiful lifestyle session and check out their latest session here! :)

The Martinez Family : Wilmington, North Carolina Lifestyle Portrait Photographer

Adore this family!  This was our second session together and you can check out our session from last November here. They had relocated to Jacksonville from California and were in need of a portrait photographer to capture their little ones and these moments!  We had such a great time the first time and I was thrilled when Olivia reached out to me over the Summer to schedule another session!  This time Saxon's parents were in town and what a perfect time to get family photos taken!

It's funny, with the chill in the air today to look back at these photos.  We met at I think 7 or so and it was H.O.T.  like STUPID hot.. So hot we had to duck into the froyo shop and wait it out a little but that turned out to be a blessing because we were able to feed the squirrel.  YES!!  You heard me right.. there's a squirrel that lives in the tree in front of the froyo shop in downtown Wilmington and he will eat peanuts out of your hand.  THE COOLEST THING EVER!!

After our bellies were full of frozen yogurt and we all weren't dripping with sweat we took advantage of the sights and gorgeous light that just happened to be there when we were ready to walk again!

These two little ones are such a delight to photograph and I'm looking forward to seeing them soon! :)

Sarah+Matt : Married! 128 South-Wilmington, North Carolina Wedding Photographer

Loved everything about this wedding.. Looking back on the day we met, I was totally nervous!  I always am when meeting a couple or a bride for the first time.  I wonder if that ever goes away?   Sarah and Matt lived in Wilmington for a while so our conversation quickly turned to one of the cities I will always call home.  Their wedding was taking place at one of my all time favorite haunts in Wilmington.  It used to be this amazing Thai restaurant that had been sold and turned into this awesome wedding venue overlooking the riverfront downtown.  128 South has so many different elements to it.. and makes it a perfect location for a wedding in Wilmington! Sarah, Matt and I met up for their engagement session back in December of last year.. I could tell we were going to have a great session when we decided to meet up for a beer before hand! HA!  We met up at the Raleigh Times and then walked around downtown Raleigh for a bit and just got to know each other better.  Here's a link to the post of their engagements!

Finally May rolled around and their wedding kicked off a string of three weddings back to back.. Matt and Sarah surrounded themselves with their best friends and family for a beautiful afternoon ceremony.  The light was just perfect and being able to walk to the riverfront for bride and groom portraits was such a reward! They danced, dressed up for the photobooth and had amazing cupcakes!  Below is just a few of my favorites from the day.. don't you just love the pops of orange??!!  Sarah and her mom worked so hard on everything and it was pulled together perfectly!

Thank you Matt and Sarah for allowing me to be a part of your day! Miss you guys!

Big Thank You to Kate of Kathryn Falconer Photography for assisting and running the photo booth!
