The Stockroom at 230 : Raleigh, North Carolina Wedding : Shelley+Matt

I could not have picked a better couple to kick off 2016's Wedding Season!  I walked away from Shelley and Matt's wedding with a heart bursting at the seams and feeling so incredibly fortunate to work with couples like them and do this amazing job that I love so so so much!

The first time we met I went home going.. "I hope they want to work with me as much as I want to work with them"! They were oh so cool, laid back and took me out for beers.. that's a WIN in my book.

Matt broke his wrist a few weeks prior to the wedding and he mentioned he was worried about telling Shelley, because he knew he'd have a cast, etc.. and her reaction was more of concern for how he was feeling.  That my friends, is what it's all about.. <3

I made Shelley promise on Saturday that they wouldn't be strangers.. and we'd stay in touch after the wedding! :)

I could go on and on about them.. but I'm going to let the images speak for themselves and give you a glimpse into their perfect wedding at the Stockroom at 230.

Amazing vendors came together and pulled off the perfect day for Shelley+Matt

American Tobacco Campus Engagement Photographer : Durham, North Carolina | Kelly+Logan

There's something about my couples.  It's a connection.  When I was sitting down talking to my amazing designer, Ravyn of Three Fifteen Design, who's helping me rebrand we talked about "my couples" and how to define them.  In all aspects of business you have a target market.  Who YOU want to work with and that they want to work with YOU! I knew the moment we sat down at the Flying Saucer, Kelly and Logan had a flight in front of them, they looked like a couple in love and also best friends.  I knew from the first few minutes of that meet up, that I wanted to work with THEM and by the end I knew they wanted to work with ME! They easily fell into the category of being  one of "MY COUPLES" ;)

The day we met up for their engagements, we once again battled crazy weather!  I had just left a bridal session in Chapel Hill where huge raindrops had just started and I knew they were coming in from Greenville and I wanted to make sure this wasn't a wasted/rained out trip! We frantically texted each other what the weather was like where we were.... "tears were almost shed" but we avoided the crazy thunderstorms and downpours and had a lovely session at ATC in Downtown Durham!

SO Funny and one of the best stories about Kelly and Logan is that when we met up, they actually, technically, weren't engaged! HAHAH Logan had really wanted for the right moment to present itself! and he remedied that soon after our meet up during a trip to Savannah with Kelly.  In front of Forsyth Park's famous fountain, Logan went down on one knee and asked Kelly to marry him with a gorgeous emerald cut solitaire! Their parents came out of hiding to celebrate! The funniest part is when they were telling me about it, they said some random person came up and asked "are you getting ready to propose?!" as they were walking around the fountain.. HAHAHAH Why would someone DO THAT!! Just an FYI, if you see someone you may THINK is going to propose.. don't ask.. just let it happen and consider yourself lucky to be there! ;)

I'm excited for these two, who just bought a house and can soon be in the same city!! They've been living apart due to careers and sharing the puppy parenting with their beautiful pup, Darby. Who I know will be so incredibly happy to have her parents together under one roof! So looking forward to their wedding in October at Mordecai with a reception at Caffe Luna. Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session this past April.

Fearrington Barn Sparkling Holiday Wedding : Pittsboro, North Carolina Wedding Photographer

"Darling so it goes
some things are meant to be
take my hand, take my whole life too
for I can't help falling in love with you" - Elvis Presley

Rachael and Dennis have such an awesome fate filled story.  Rachael works in property management and Dennis just happened to be filling in for a coworker who was out of work.  In those short weeks he was able to gather up the courage to ask out this beautiful woman who he had the opportunity to deliver mail to every day..  and the rest is history..

We first met when we shot their engagements at Rachael's family's farm out towards Roxboro.  Gorgeous lake, old barns and it was the perfect spot for us to get acquainted and capture this time in their lives.  You can see more from that beautiful afternoon here : Rachael and Dennis/Engagements.

Their wedding ceremony took place inside of Hank's Chapel Church, a beautiful, quaint little chapel tucked inside of Pittsboro.  Immediately following was the reception in the gorgeous Fearrington Barn.  The Barn was all decked out for the holidays and it was spectacular!  So many twinkle lights everywhere!!

Fearrington allowed us to shoot Racahel's Bridals out there a month earlier.  I swear, everywhere you look around Fearrington it just takes your breath away.  Such a stunning venue.  So much attention to detail is taken all over the grounds.  Here's more from Rachael's Bridal Session.  Just stunning..

Here are a few of my very favorites from their day..

Would love to acknowledge the wonderful vendors I worked with!

Downtown Raleigh Engagement Photographer | Katie+Mark

A couple of months ago Katie+Mark met with me to capture their engagements!  We started out at the always beautiful Coker Arboretum on UNC Chapel Hill's Campus and then travelled to Raleigh to head downtown and the classic Boylan Bridge area and City Market!

I learned about how they met, what quality they love the most about each other (Always love asking that question!) and learned about the amazing way Mark proposed!

Mark handmade a bench.. an amazing bench to have at the lake that they frequent for walks with their puppy..

" He knew there was not anywhere to sit in that area so about a month prior to that day, he had begun working on it."

Can't wait to see this bench at their wedding!  I am so looking forward to capturing Katie's bridals this week and catching up with these two at their MacGregor Downs Counrty Club Wedding one month from today!!
