Backyard Vintage DIY Wedding New Hill, NC : Kelsey+Travis

I’m gonna love you, forever I do.
I’m gonna spend all of my days with you.
I’ll carry your burdens and be the wind at your back.
I wanna spend my forever— forever like that.

When the rain comes, I’ll be your shelter.
When the storm blow, we’ll be together.
When the winds may fall, I’ll be right by your side.
— Ben Rector

Two of the most creative people I know were married this past June and I was lucky enough to be a part of their day.

I’ve known Travis for quite a few years now, first through Crosspointe Church and then through working together at Apple. He’s joined me on quite a few occasions as an amazing second shooter and also doing his own thing in video for his own company Two Suits Films.

I had photographed Kelsey, probably many times before I even met her!  I had been asked to cover some events for Crosspointe and she was part of the band and has an amazing voice!!  She has a kindness that just makes you feel as if you’ve known her for years.

I love how they love each other.  <3

When they got engaged and I was asked about photographing their wedding, I was of course thrilled.. but also felt incredibly fortunate.  I knew this wasn’t going to be just an ordinary wedding.. this was going to be an ALL OUT CELEBRATION!! The Crosspointe family doesn’t do things on a small level.. HA!

So many many hands and hearts came together to make their day absolutely perfect.  So much attention to detail and love was put into every moment of the day.  Kelsey’s Mom, Kris is one- third of the amazing Hobnob Occasions company.  Three amazing women who not only offer rentals of everything from vintage tea cups to linens to amazing handmade banquet tables and benches but they also offer wedding and event planning. So no doubt, the set up was breathtaking as you’ll see below..

I just want to say one more thing before I inundate you with way too many of my favorite images from their day.

These two, they gave me SO much time for photos.  Their first look was spectacular and one of my all time favorites.  Travis being on the other side of the camera and his experience with wedding day timelines really helped give them the images they wanted.

So many times not enough time is given or considered and it throws everything off or behind and just leaves everyone stressed.  Not saying that a first look is ALWAYS necessary but when building your timeline, there’s so much to consider and I am VERY willing to help with making sure my couples have time to get the images they truly want and will want to look back on!

Thank you Kelsey+Travis for allowing me to be a small part of your day!!

Thank you to the McClear Family for opening up their home for this wonderful celebration!

Big shout out to working alongside these amazing vendors!!

Highgrove Estate Wedding : Fuquay Varina, North Carolina | Gwyn+Neil

"She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree
She's as sweet as Tupelo honey
Just like the honey, from the bee"

-Tupelo Honey, Van Morrison

They danced to this beautiful song by one of my favorite artists.. surrounded by family and friends who came from near and far to be there, some over 3600 miles!  Gwyn and Neil were married last May and I've been wanting to feature this wedding for months now, time gets away from you.  So let's do this properly.

Gwyn and Neil were a "perfect fit" referral from their good friends Lauren and Jared who were married a few months before them in September.  The first time I met Gwyn we had an instant connection and when I met Neil, he was just as entertaining and so sweet.  They took me to Tanglewood Park for their Save the Dates and instantly I knew this was going to be such and adventure.  We later travelled to the Blue Ridge Mountains during peak season for their Engagements.  One snag of course, it was when the government shutdown was going on.. who knew National parks would be that affected but they knew their way around the mountains like pros and it didn't hinder us one bit.  They'll completely agree.. we had the best time and the best meatball subs and Gaelic Ales at that little restaurant in downtown Blowing Rock.

Their day was perfect in every way.. even the raindrops that came and went exactly 40 minutes before the ceremony.. just enough time to come blessing them on their wedding day and leaving as quickly as they came to not hinder their outdoor ceremony.  I remember Lauren looking at me as we both caught a glimpse of the big rain drops as they fell, and we rushed to close the drapes as to not worry Gwyn as she was getting ready..

Highgrove Estate was exceptional. Just a gorgeous venue! Catering was amazing and their very favorite band Old Habits played the night away, they'd actually been playing the night they met!

Their first year has been an adventure and I am so glad they're getting settled in their new home in Texas.. I just wish they lived closer!  Congratulations Gwyn+Neil! and Thank you so much for allowing me in to capture this awesome love you two share for each other.. you two together can face any challenge and make the most of it! and that's what I love the most about the two of you!

Chapel Hill Carriage House Fiesta Wedding | Mike and Valerie

Val and Mike.. What pops in my head first is how well these two fit.  If you're lucky enough to know them personally you totally GET this.  Mike and I worked together at Apple for a couple of years before we both were able to jump off out of retail! I was super flattered and excited when he inquired about wedding photography and really couldn't wait to meet Val.

We had such a great time shooting their save the dates and engagements earlier in the spring!

These two were married back in early October and had the most gorgeous, colorful Fiesta Wedding at the Chapel Hill Carriage House on the outskirts of Chapel Hill.  I couldn't believe I didn't know about this place! It's just beautiful and everyone out there was amazing to work with!

Below you'll see such an emotional First Look that had us all in tears, an awesome alternative to the traditional cake cutting, these two did a cookie dunk! There's hula hooping, the cutest niece, and goats.. let me warn you.. Warning: there's an insane amount of farm animal photos.. I mean, Goats. I Die.

So many wonderful vendors came together for their big day!
