Peace.Love.Uganda is the logo on the shirts Sunny and Isaac made to raise money for their journey. The journey of a lifetime, the journey to build a family. I spoke with Sunny last night about my blog post and how I wanted to stay true to them and also tell their story. Sunny, Isaac and I met at a wedding last year (Kala +Damion's). Sunny was a bridesmaid and we hit it off! She's funny, loud and full of life! I had no idea what journey they were embarking on until we became facebook friends. I then would see an occasional post about having faith and kids. I still really didn't have a clue but it pricked my interest and once I followed more closely I figured out these two amazing people have decided to adopt children...in UGANDA! Half a world away??!! Sunny and Isaac decided to pursue adoption from Uganda in February of last year, filing papers in May and went on a mission trip (not adoption related) in June! They learned of the twins in September of last year and have been on a faith driven roller coaster ride for the last several months. Seeing posts like "The unknowns can be terrifying but finding peace in God's sovereignty. He is faithful. He is just." and "Today marked the 3 week mark...scared, stressed, exhausted but more than anything I'm EXCITED! Praying that I'm allowed to be these two little ones' mommy forever and ever". Their faith and support from family, friends and church helped them get to this point. This point....On May 17th the twins, Nakato and Wasswa arrived with their Mom : ) to the open arms of their Dad, family and friends!
