The Stockroom at 230 : Raleigh, North Carolina Wedding : Shelley+Matt

I could not have picked a better couple to kick off 2016's Wedding Season!  I walked away from Shelley and Matt's wedding with a heart bursting at the seams and feeling so incredibly fortunate to work with couples like them and do this amazing job that I love so so so much!

The first time we met I went home going.. "I hope they want to work with me as much as I want to work with them"! They were oh so cool, laid back and took me out for beers.. that's a WIN in my book.

Matt broke his wrist a few weeks prior to the wedding and he mentioned he was worried about telling Shelley, because he knew he'd have a cast, etc.. and her reaction was more of concern for how he was feeling.  That my friends, is what it's all about.. <3

I made Shelley promise on Saturday that they wouldn't be strangers.. and we'd stay in touch after the wedding! :)

I could go on and on about them.. but I'm going to let the images speak for themselves and give you a glimpse into their perfect wedding at the Stockroom at 230.

Amazing vendors came together and pulled off the perfect day for Shelley+Matt

I’m gonna love you, forever I do.
I’m gonna spend all of my days with you.
I’ll carry your burdens and be the wind at your back.
I wanna spend my forever— forever like that.

When the rain comes, I’ll be your shelter.
When the storm blow, we’ll be together.
When the winds may fall, I’ll be right by your side.
— Ben Rector

Two of the most creative people I know were married this past June and I was lucky enough to be a part of their day.

I’ve known Travis for quite a few years now, first through Crosspointe Church and then through working together at Apple. He’s joined me on quite a few occasions as an amazing second shooter and also doing his own thing in video for his own company Two Suits Films.

I had photographed Kelsey, probably many times before I even met her!  I had been asked to cover some events for Crosspointe and she was part of the band and has an amazing voice!!  She has a kindness that just makes you feel as if you’ve known her for years.

I love how they love each other.  <3

When they got engaged and I was asked about photographing their wedding, I was of course thrilled.. but also felt incredibly fortunate.  I knew this wasn’t going to be just an ordinary wedding.. this was going to be an ALL OUT CELEBRATION!! The Crosspointe family doesn’t do things on a small level.. HA!

So many many hands and hearts came together to make their day absolutely perfect.  So much attention to detail and love was put into every moment of the day.  Kelsey’s Mom, Kris is one- third of the amazing Hobnob Occasions company.  Three amazing women who not only offer rentals of everything from vintage tea cups to linens to amazing handmade banquet tables and benches but they also offer wedding and event planning. So no doubt, the set up was breathtaking as you’ll see below..

I just want to say one more thing before I inundate you with way too many of my favorite images from their day.

These two, they gave me SO much time for photos.  Their first look was spectacular and one of my all time favorites.  Travis being on the other side of the camera and his experience with wedding day timelines really helped give them the images they wanted.

So many times not enough time is given or considered and it throws everything off or behind and just leaves everyone stressed.  Not saying that a first look is ALWAYS necessary but when building your timeline, there’s so much to consider and I am VERY willing to help with making sure my couples have time to get the images they truly want and will want to look back on!

Thank you Kelsey+Travis for allowing me to be a small part of your day!!

Thank you to the McClear Family for opening up their home for this wonderful celebration!

Big shout out to working alongside these amazing vendors!!

American Tobacco Campus Engagement Photographer : Durham, North Carolina | Kelly+Logan

There's something about my couples.  It's a connection.  When I was sitting down talking to my amazing designer, Ravyn of Three Fifteen Design, who's helping me rebrand we talked about "my couples" and how to define them.  In all aspects of business you have a target market.  Who YOU want to work with and that they want to work with YOU! I knew the moment we sat down at the Flying Saucer, Kelly and Logan had a flight in front of them, they looked like a couple in love and also best friends.  I knew from the first few minutes of that meet up, that I wanted to work with THEM and by the end I knew they wanted to work with ME! They easily fell into the category of being  one of "MY COUPLES" ;)

The day we met up for their engagements, we once again battled crazy weather!  I had just left a bridal session in Chapel Hill where huge raindrops had just started and I knew they were coming in from Greenville and I wanted to make sure this wasn't a wasted/rained out trip! We frantically texted each other what the weather was like where we were.... "tears were almost shed" but we avoided the crazy thunderstorms and downpours and had a lovely session at ATC in Downtown Durham!

SO Funny and one of the best stories about Kelly and Logan is that when we met up, they actually, technically, weren't engaged! HAHAH Logan had really wanted for the right moment to present itself! and he remedied that soon after our meet up during a trip to Savannah with Kelly.  In front of Forsyth Park's famous fountain, Logan went down on one knee and asked Kelly to marry him with a gorgeous emerald cut solitaire! Their parents came out of hiding to celebrate! The funniest part is when they were telling me about it, they said some random person came up and asked "are you getting ready to propose?!" as they were walking around the fountain.. HAHAHAH Why would someone DO THAT!! Just an FYI, if you see someone you may THINK is going to propose.. don't ask.. just let it happen and consider yourself lucky to be there! ;)

I'm excited for these two, who just bought a house and can soon be in the same city!! They've been living apart due to careers and sharing the puppy parenting with their beautiful pup, Darby. Who I know will be so incredibly happy to have her parents together under one roof! So looking forward to their wedding in October at Mordecai with a reception at Caffe Luna. Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session this past April.
